Infrastructure is developing with a very fast pace in India. To cope up with the scenario of fast development and new changes being brought every now and then in the construction industry, it is need of the hour that in addition to the engineering issues there are many other issues which are not taught to an engineer in college be discussed on a platform and the practical approach adopted by the government engineers is shared among the community. These issues if not handled/tackled properly and in time, leads to delay, increase in cost, litigation and many more other problems. These issues & the practical solutions adopted by the speaker and the panelist during their career in Government Job will be discussed in this webinar.

Er.Dr. B.S. SINGLA

Sh. B.S. Singla is a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering  having experience of more than 38 years in Govt. and Private sectors. He worked as Chief GM (Tech) NHAI, as MD Haryana State Roads & Bridges Development Corporation, as Chief Engineer Haryana PWD (B&R) and presently working on the other side of table as a Director of a large infrastructure company. Some of the prestigious projects got executed by him while in Govt sector are : Eastern Peripheral Expressway and Delhi Merrut Expressway in 500 days, Govt Women University Khanpur Kalan Haryana in 13 months. He has written many Technical papers. Three of these were selected in NASA Digital Library and one in the Howard University Library.He has written a book titled “ Expressways in 500 days”. Some of the prestigious awards received by him are:- 

a) ‘The Expressway Man of the Year’ by Global Leaders Awards at Dubai in year 2019,  ‘Trendsetter Project of the year 2018’ at Mumbai, 

b) ‘Udyog Rattan Award ‘ by Institute of Economics Studies in year 2007, ‘Appreciation Letter’ from Shri Nripendra Misra,Principal Secretary to Hon’ble Prime Minister,  ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ in 2019 & ‘Outstanding Performance in Expressways and Highways’ in Europe in 2020 by Global Leaders Awards.

Er. Inderjit Ghai

Sh. Inderjit Ghai, a Graduate Civil Engineer from Punjab University Chandigarh, is the Managing Director of M/s General Highways and Infracon Pvt. Ltd. (an Engineering Consultancy Firm)  & Chairman of Civil Engineers Academy and Research Center, a Regd. non profit making society, for the cause of Civil Engineering. After serving in the field for 15 years on the construction of infrastructure projects in India and abroad, he started his own Engineering Consultancy firm to provide services in the field of planning design and construction of infrastructure projects. He is an active member of IRC H- 2 Committee, ISO 39001 Road Traffic Safety Management System Lead Auditor certified by bsi, certified Road Safety Auditor (RSA) by IRC. He is the creator and admin of two highly technical Whatsapp groups - “Highways Information Group (HIG)” and “Bridge Information Group (BIG)”.

Er. Rajiv Ahuja

Sh. Rajiv Ahuja, is a post graduate in Structural Engineering and  M. Tech in Soil Mechanics & Foundation Engineering. He is a well known Bridge Engineer of India having 40 years experience in planning and designing of bridges and highways including permanent and temporary structures , supervision and proof checking. He is working as Independent Consultant offering his services to various construction companies for bridge & highway projects. He is a member of B-2 Committee of IRC:6 and was actively involved with preparation of IRC:SP:114-2018.

Brid. Dr.  R.S. Grewal

Brig. Dr. R.S. Grewal served in the Indian Army‘s Corps of Engineers for more than 34 years. He was Chief Engineer in the Border Roads Organization in a terrain that is considered a logistician’s nightmare, and has served as a member of faculty at the prestigious Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and College of Military Engineering, Pune. He was awarded Vishisht Sewa Medal by the President of India. After retirement, he was in academia for 16 years and had been Director, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, Pro Vice Chancellor SM University and Vice Chancellor Chitkara University H.P. He has contributed many papers to reputed journals, and has also been a speaker at numerous forums, both in India and abroad. He has recently published a book “Envisioning Indian Higher Education”.
